lend a hand
Everyone can use a hand from time to time but it can be difficult to ask for help. By the same token there are plenty of people in our community who would like to help others but don't know where to start. The 'LEND a hand' project is simply about bringing those people together so that Brighton develops into the community we all hope it will be.
FAQS:

Q: Who's organising this?

A: 'Upstream Communities' is a small group of Christians who live in Brighton and want to contribute to the community. This is a practical way we can work with others and help the people around us. The project has the support of Brighton Residents Association.

Q: How do I get in touch if I have an idea for a project?
A: Contact either Andrew Hamilton or Midge Gough. Either email hamo@brightontown.com.au or phone 0400044236. Or you can catch Midge at the sales office on 95620422.  If you know of someone in need then we'd love to hear about it. You can't nominate yourself!

Q: Can I help with one of the projects?
A: Absolutely. We are seeking to do this as a way of bringing the community together and helping create the kind of environment we all want to live in.  You can do as much or as little as you like.

Q: What kind of projects would you do?
A: There's obviously a limit to what can be accomplished in 3 hours on a Sunday arvo, but we'll have a crack at almost anything from yard work, to retic, painting etc.

Q: What if money is needed?
A: You can chip in and help out if you want to, but there is no obligation. We also have a fund that we can draw on if we need to.

Q: Is this just a ploy to get me to come to church?
A: Nope. If you're interested in 'church meetings' then you can check out our website. You're welcome to join us if that's what you'd like to do.

Q: So why would I get involved again?...
A: We all want to live in a community where people look out for each other and lend a hand as needed. By getting involved you just affirm your own commitment to helping the community develop and become what we hope it will be. It's a win/win for everyone!
